Entertainment will be provided by the David Caballero Quartet and the Arts Umbrella Dance Company.

David Caballero Quartet: David Caballero is an up and coming young bass player in the Vancouver Jazz community playing with local legends as well as international touring artists. His playing is deeply rooted in the jazz tradition while also offering his own modern take on older repertoire. Joining him in his quartet will be pianist Max Huberdeau, Ethan Birnie on tenor saxophone and Arvind Ramdas on drums. The 4 of them have a long history of making music together, having all met while studying in Capilano University’s highly regarded Jazz Studies program, where they honed their musical prowess.

Arts Umbrella Dance Company: Sophisticated, dedicated, and inspired. The Arts Umbrella Dance Company (AUDC) is a pre-professional repertory company based in Vancouver, BC. The company rehearses and performs new, innovative works by leading North American and European choreographers.

Arts Umbrella Dance Company is proud to present excerpts from their annual holiday performance Mixed Nuts, a modern and engaging twist on Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, bringing together a flavoursome assortment of dance styles for an extra-special holiday treat. You can see the full length performance of Mixed Nuts at the Vancouver Playhouse December 15th-17th.
